Who We Are

One family, one vision

Kyle & Kristina are two cousins with a big vision. Kyle currently is a Resident Physician in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University, while Kristina is getting a dual-masters degree at Georgetown University at the Walsh School of Foreign Service and McCourt School of Public Policy. While working on a medical project during the summer of 2016 with a UK-based organization, Naturally Africa Volunteers (NAV), Kyle & Kristina witnessed severe malnutrition and poverty in Nkope Village, Malawi. One of the most notable struggles was the healing of chronic wounds of children with inadequate nutritional intake.

With a lack of irrigation, running water, and electricity, Nkope village essentially halts its agricultural practices in the dry season. Coming from a family of vegetable farmers, the cousins are working with NAV and their family back home to help farmers in Malawi fulfill their potential. The goal is to increase agriculture production with dry season irrigation and to tackle malnutrition at the source. They hope to accomplish this by building local capacity within the village community.

During their visit in 2017, they toured multiple local farms along-side NAV's founder, Marc Crouch, in the Mangochi district and gained extensive knowledge on how to proceed during the next phases of development to implement their vision.

In March of 2018, Kyle and Kristina established their own 501(c)(3) in the US named Harvest Malawi and Kristina re-visited Malawi for the third time. With the Malawi Agriculture project now underway, Kyle & Kristina are optimistic about what comes next.
